Edgeworth

Privacy policy

Last updated 5 November 2026.

The short version

We collect what Edgeworth needs to work and nothing else. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your address is shared with one person only: whoever is sending you a book, because the label needs it.

What we hold

Your email address, used to sign you in.

Your username, state, and anything you choose to put in your profile. Other members see your username and state, never your town or street.

Your shipping addresses and a phone number. Carriers require a phone number on a label.

Your shelves, listings and photographs of your books.

Messages you send to other members. We can read these when a report is made about them.

Orders and trades, including what was bought, for how much, and how it was sent.

A notification token, if you turn notifications on. Turning them off deletes it.

What we never hold

Your card details. Payments go directly to Stripe, who handle them. Edgeworth never sees or stores a card number.

Your bank details. If you sell, Stripe collects those directly for your payouts.

Your exact location. We ask for a state, and addresses only so packages can be sent.

Who else sees it

Stripe, to take payments and pay sellers. They receive the amount, and the identity details sellers give them directly.

EasyPost and USPS, to buy and track shipping labels. They receive the sending and receiving addresses and phone numbers for that package.

Supabase, who host the app and its database.

Expo, who deliver push notifications if you turn them on.

Open Library, when you search for a book or scan a barcode. They receive the search or the barcode, not anything about you.

Nobody else. We do not sell or share your information for advertising.

Other members

Other members can see your username, your state, your shelves, your listings, your feedback score and your completed trade count.

They can see your full name, address and phone number only if you are sending them a book or they are sending you one. It is on the label.

They cannot see your email address.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account, with one exception: completed sales are kept as financial records, with your name and account removed from them. We are required to keep records of money that changed hands.

Messages, shelves, listings and your profile are deleted with your account.

Your choices

Delete your account at any time from the You tab. It is immediate.

Turn notifications off at any time, which deletes the token.

Block any member, which stops you seeing each other.

Ask us what we hold about you, at edgeworthapp@gmail.com.

Children

Edgeworth is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone younger. If you believe a child is using Edgeworth, tell us and we will remove the account.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app. Carrying on using Edgeworth after that means you accept it.
